Ratio and Proportions Year 6

Description

Ratio and Proportions is a completely interactive lesson designed for learners in year 6.

In this lesson, learners will be able to:

• understand that a ratio shows the relationship between two values and can describe how one is related to another;

• to understand the colon notation as the ratio symbol;

• make simple comparisons between two different quantities;

• solve problems involving the relative sizes of 2 quantities where missing values can be found; and

• solve problems involving similar shapes where the scale factor is known or can be found.

The lesson can be used as whole class teaching by teachers and at home by learners.
