In this lesson, learners will be introduced to the multiplication symbol, linking to repeated addition and multiplication together. They will work in a variety of ways, using concrete resources and pictorially. They will use mathematical vocabulary to demonstrate their understanding but not mathematical symbols at this stage. Children should be provided with manipulatives to support them where applicable.
