Interpret Pictograms (2, 5 & 10)

By the end of this unit, students will be able to:

• Understand the concept of pictograms as visual representations of data.
• Interpret pictograms using symbols that represent quantities of 2, 5, and 10.
• Read and gather information from pictograms with symbols in increments of 2, 5, and 10.
• Compare and analyze data shown in pictograms with larger intervals.
• Answer questions and solve problems based on pictogram data using symbols of 2, 5, and 10.

Curriculum Alignment: Year 2 Statistics:

• Interpret and construct simple pictograms, tally charts, block diagrams and tables.
• Ask and answer simple questions by counting the number of objects in each category and sorting the categories by quantity.
• Ask-and-answer questions about totalling and comparing categorical data.
