Teach children how to sequence events in a story or activity, and retell stories and experiences in the correct order, using words such as “first,” “next,” and “last.”
By the end of this unit, children will be able to:
understand and use basic time-related vocabulary, such as morning, afternoon, and evening;
recognize and understand the sequence of daily routines and events, such as eating breakfast in the morning and going to bed at night;
identify and describe events that happened in the past (yesterday), events that are happening now (today), and events that will happen in the future (tomorrow);
use their understanding of time and sequence to make predictions about what will happen next in a story or activity.
