By the end of this unit, children will be able to:

  1. Transition from recognizing equal groups to creating equal groups with a specified quantity of items.
  2. Progress from simply identifying equal groups to actively forming them according to a given number
  3. Represent equal groups using tangible objects or illustrations, sometimes filling in partially completed images to demonstrate their understanding.

 

Curriculum Alignment: Year 1 Mathematics: Multiplication and Division

  • Solve one-step problems involving multiplication and division, by calculating the answer using concrete objects, pictorial representations, and arrays.
