acid and bases activities

Acids and Alkali

In this topic Key stage 3 learners will understand the chemical reaction that occurs as a result of mixing acids and alkalis.

Target Age:

Lesson Overview

By the end of this unit, students will be able to:

  • understand the difference between acid and alkali;
  • learn weak and strong acids and alkali
  • identify alkali from household items; and
  • recognise hazard symbols and their meanings

Curriculum Alignment: KS3 Science: Chemical Reactions

  • learn about defining acids and alkalis in terms of neutralisation reactions;
