  1. Understand the concept of perimeter as the total distance around a shape.
  2. Identify and measure the sides of different shapes to calculate their perimeter.
  3. Use addition to find the sum of the lengths of all sides of a shape to determine its perimeter.
  4. Apply the concept of perimeter to solve real-life and mathematical problems.
