By the end of this unit, students will be able to:
- construct parallel and perpendicular lines using a set square;
- construct the perpendicular bisector of a line using a compass;
- construct the perpendicular to a given point on a line;
- construct a line through a given point parallel to a given line;
- construct the perpendicular from a given line to a point not on the line.
Curriculum Alignment: Key Stage 4: Geometry and measures
- Identify and apply circle definitions and properties, including: centre, radius, chord, diameter, circumference, tangent, arc, sector and segment
- {apply and prove the standard circle theorems concerning angles, radii, tangents and chords, and use them to prove related results}
