  1. Identify and recognize numerical digits and their respective place values.
  2. Learn and apply comparative terms (greater than, less than, equal to) to describe relationships between numbers accurately.
  3. Build a foundational understanding of the magnitude of numbers and their positions on the number line.

Year 1 Number: Number and Place Value

  • Given a number, identify 1 more and 1 less.
  • Identify and represent numbers using objects and pictorial representations including the number line, and use the language of: equal to, more than, less than (fewer), most, least.
