Compound Measures

compound measures density mass volume
Description

By the end of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. calculate capacity with given dimensions;
  2. develop convert between related compound units in numerical and algebraic contexts;
  3. calculate compound measures that involve two or more different units.

Key Stage 4: Ratio, proportion and rates of change

  • change freely between related standard units [for example time, length, area, volume/capacity, mass]
  • use compound units such as speed, unit pricing and density to solve problems.
