By the end of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. understand the concept of factorization and its significance in simplifying algebraic expressions;
  2. factorize algebraic expressions by identifying common factors, difference of squares, and other techniques;
  3. apply their knowledge to solve problems involving factorization.

Key Stage 3: Algebra

  • simplify and manipulate algebraic expressions to maintain equivalence by:
    • collecting like terms
    • multiplying a single term over a bracket
    • taking out common factors
    • expanding products of 2 or more binomials
