How Light Travels

Description

By the end of this unit, students will be able to:

explore the concept of how humans see objects;
identify that light travels in straight lines;
recognize that light can change direction when reflected from an object;
draw simple ray diagrams to explain how light travels in straight lines from a light source to an object and is then reflected to the eye.

National Curriculum Objectives

Year 6 Science: Light:

recognise that light appears to travel in straight lines
use the idea that light travels in straight lines to explain that objects are seen because they give out or reflect light into the eye
explain that we see things because light travels from light sources to our eyes or from light sources to objects and then to our eyes
