Activity

Children will create a “fishing pond” by filling a shallow container with water and adding lightweight items like paper clips or small metal objects that can be attracted to a magnet. Attach a magnet to a string, then tie the string to a stick to create a fishing rod. Let the children “fish” the objects out of the water.

This activity will develop:

  • fine motor skills;
  • hand-eye coordination;
  • and understanding of magnetic forces.

  • Preschool
