Description
By the end of this unit, students will:
- test different materials to see if they are magnetic or non-magnetic;
- make predictions before testing the materials;
- sort and group materials based on whether they attract a magnet or not.

Year 3 Science: Forces and magnets
- observe how magnets attract or repel each other and attract some materials and not others
- compare and group together a variety of everyday materials on the basis of whether they are attracted to a magnet, and identify some magnetic materials
