Students will be able to recognize and identify numbers from 1-10. Students will be able to understand the concept of doubling by recognizing and creating pairs of objects. Students will be able to solve simple addition problems by making doubles, such as "2+2=4" or "3+3=6." Students will be able to use visual aids, such as manipulatives and drawings, to understand the concept of doubling and practice making doubles. Students will be able to use doubles to solve simple word problems, such as "If you have two apples and you get two more, how many apples do you have now?" Students will be able to use mathematical language to describe and communicate their understanding of doubling, such as "doubling means making two of the same thing."
