Description

By the end of this unit, students will:

  1. Understand the importance of following a specific order when evaluating mathematical expressions.
  2. Apply the order of operations (BIDMAS or PEMDAS) correctly to solve expressions.
  3. Simplify and evaluate expressions involving multiple operations.

Key Stage 3: Algebra

  • Simplify and manipulate algebraic expressions to maintain equivalence by:
    • collecting like terms
    • multiplying a single term over a bracket
    • taking out common factors
    • expanding products of 2 or more binomials
