By the end of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. compare two-digit and three-digit numbers using the symbols “<” (less than), “>” (greater than), and “=” (equal to);
  2. identify the place value of digits in two-digit and three-digit numbers to determine their relative values;
  3. understand how the position of digits affects the value of a number;
  4. use comparative language to describe the relationships between numbers.
