In this lesson, children will be bale to recognise and show, using diagrams, families of common equivalent fractions.

Lesson Overview

By the end of this unit, children will be able to:

  1. order and compare numbers with up to 3 decimal places;
  2. develop an understand of the value of each digit in a decimal number;
  3. use this knowledge to compare and order decimals accurately;
  4. recognise the significance of zero in decimal numbers and apply these skills in practical contexts.

Curriculum Alignment: Year 4 Number: Number – fractions (including decimals)

  • Compare numbers with the same number of decimal places up to 2 decimal places.
