Description

By the end of this unit, students will be able to:

Understand that each digit in a number represents a specific quantity.
Understand how numbers are composed of individual digits and how to break them down.
Grasp the concept that the position of a digit in a number determines its value.
Recognize and identify the numbers from 0 to 20.

National Curriculum Objectives

Year 1 Number: Number and Place Value

Count to and across 100, forwards and backwards, beginning with zero or 1, or from any given number.
Count, read and write numbers to 100 in numerals; count in multiples of 2s, 5s and 10s.
