By the end of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. use common factors and their knowledge of division to simplify fractions;
  2. simplify fractions invloving mixed numbers
  3. and apply these to solve problems in context.

Year 6 Number: Fractions (including decimals and percentages)

  • Add and subtract fractions with different denominators and mixed numbers, using the concept of equivalent fractions.
