By the end of this unit, students will be able to:
- understand and apply Pythagoras’ Theorem to find missing lengths in right-angled triangles;
- use trigonometric ratios (sine, cosine, tangent) to find unknown angles and lengths in right-angled triangles;
- apply these concepts to solve problems involving both 2D and 3D figures.
Curriculum Alignment: Key Stage 4: Geometry and Measures
- apply Pythagoras’ Theorem and trigonometric ratios to find angles and lengths in right-angled triangles {and, where possible, general triangles} in 2 {and 3} dimensional figures
