Counting Beyond 20

By the end of this unit, students will be able to:

1. Extend their counting skills beyond 20, understanding the order of numbers up to a higher range.
2. Explore numbers beyond 20, hence, strengthen their overall number sense and grasp the concept of quantity in a broader context.

Curriculum Alignment: Year 1 Number: Number and Place Value

• Count to and across 100, forwards and backwards, beginning with zero or 1, or from any given number.
• Count, read and write numbers to 100 in numerals; count in multiples of 2s, 5s and 10s.
