By the end of this unit, children will be able to:

  1. use objects or counters to represent numbers and perform addition.
  2. combine two sets of objects and count the total
  3. understand that addition is combining two or more sets to make a larger set.
  4. recognize the ‘+’ symbol as an operation that signifies addition.
