Classifying Angles

In this lesson, learners will learn how to divide numbers mentally, drawing upon known facts; use the formal written method of short division to divide numbers up to 4 digits by a one-digit number; and interpret remainders appropriately for the context.

Description

By the end of this unit, children will be able to:

  1. classify angles using knowledge of right angles from the previous step;
  2. recap and progress from classifying angles as acute or obtuse to include reflex angles;
  3. classify angles by sight, including within geometric figures.

  • Know angles are measured in degrees: estimate and compare acute, obtuse and reflex angles.
