Calculating Angles at a Point

By the end of this unit, children will be able to:

  1. Understanding the concept of a point and angles formed at a point.
  2. Identifying angles formed at a point, including acute, right, obtuse, and straight angles.
  3. Recognizing that angles at a point add up to 360 degrees and explaining why this is the case.
  4. Applying knowledge of angles at a point to calculate missing angles in diagrams and shapes.

Curriculum Alignment: Year 6 Geometry:Properties of shapes

  • Recognise angles where they meet at a point, are on a straight line, or are vertically opposite, and find missing angles.
