By the end of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. classify different types of microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa) based on their characteristics;
  2. understand how micro-organisms can be divided into groups, according to common observable characteristics;
  3. and understand their roles in the environment and human health.

Year 6 Science: Animals including humans:

  • identify and name the main parts of the human circulatory system, and describe the functions of the heart, blood vessels and blood
