Introduction to Probability – Probability Scale

By the end of this unit, students will:

  1. Understand the concept of probability as a measure of the likelihood of an event occurring.
  2. Use the probability scale to quantify and compare probabilities.
  3. Identify events with certain, likely, unlikely, and impossible outcomes on the probability scale.
  4. Apply the probability scale to real-life scenarios and problem-solving.

Curriculum Alignment: Key Stage 3: Probability

  • Record, describe and analyse the frequency of outcomes of simple probability experiments involving randomness, fairness, equally and unequally likely outcomes, using appropriate language and the 0-1 probability scale
