Laws of Indices

By the end of this unit, students will be able to:

1. understand and use multiplication law of indices;
2. understand and use division law of indices;
3. understand and use power law of indices.

• use integer powers and associated real roots (square, cube and higher), recognise powers of 2, 3, 4, 5 and distinguish between exact representations of roots and their decimal approximations.
