Place Value to 100

By the end of this unit, students will be able to:

  • Understand that each digit in a number represents a specific quantity.
  • Understand how numbers are composed of individual digits and how to break them down.
  • Grasp the concept that the position of a digit in a number determines its value.
  • Recognize and identify the numbers from 0 to 10.

Curriculum Alignment: Year 1 Number: Number and Place Value

  • Count to and across 100, forwards and backwards, beginning with zero or 1, or from any given number.
  • Count, read and write numbers to 100 in numerals; count in multiples of 2s, 5s and 10s.
