Positioning Objects

Ages 5-6

Develop an understanding of spatial relationships by observing and describing the positions of objects. Children will be able to use comparative language to describe the relationships between the positions of objects, such as “closer” or “farther.”

Description

By the end of this unit, children will be able to:

Use informal objects like paperclips, crayons, and blocks to measure the lengths of various objects.
Recognize when one object is longer or shorter than another, using informal objects for comparison.
