Measuring Lengths in Centimetres

By the end of this unit, children will be able to:

1. Understand the concept of measurement using centimeters.
2. Measure lengths of objects using centimeter units accurately.
3. Add and subtract lengths using centimeters.
4. Solve real-life problems involving measuring lengths in centimeters.

Curriculum Alignment: Year 2 Measurements:

• Choose and use appropriate standard units to estimate and measure length/height in any direction (m/cm); mass (kg/g); temperature (°C); capacity (litres/ml) to the nearest appropriate unit, using rulers, scales, thermometers and measuring vessels.
