Quarter Past and Quarter To the Hour

By the end of this unit, children will be able to:

1. extend previous learning to telling the time to quarter past and quarter to the hour;
2. recap the two hands of the clock, starting with the minute hand on 12 and the hour hand moving around the clock;
3. understand where the minute hand goes for quarter past and quarter to, as well as where the hour hand needs to be at these times.

Curriculum Alignment: Year 2 Measurement:

• tell and write the time to five minutes, including quarter past/to the hour and draw the hands on a clock face to show these times
