In this unit, learners will learn that Vertebrates are animals having a backbone inside their bodies. They will learn about the major groups of vertebrates including fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. They will also learn that animals that are Invertebrates do not have a backbone. They either have a soft body, like worms and jellyfish, or a hard outer casing covering their body, like spiders and crabs.
