By the end of this unit, students will be able to:

  • identify and explain which substances are soluble and which are insoluble in water;
  • understand the concept of solubility and how it applies to different materials;
  • learn and describe different methods for separating mixtures, including sieving, filtering, and evaporating;
  • and choose the appropriate method for separating specific mixtures.
