Students will be able to sequence events in a story or activity, such as putting pictures in the correct order to show the steps of brushing teeth. Students will be able to retell stories and experiences in the correct order, using words such as "first," "next," and "last." Students will be able to recognize and describe cause-and-effect relationships between events, such as understanding that putting on a coat keeps them warm in the cold weather. Students will be able to use their understanding of sequence and order to complete simple tasks, such as following a recipe to make a snack or following a set of directions to play a game. Students will be able to make predictions about what will happen next in a story or activity, based on their understanding of the sequence of events. Students will be able to create their own simple stories or sequences of events, using words or pictures to show the order of events.
