Identifying Electrical Appliances

By the end of this unit, students will be able to:

    • Define electricity and explain its importance.

    • Identify common sources of electricity.

    • Understand how electricity can be generated through various means.

    • Identify common appliances that run on electricity.

 

Curriculum Alignment:

  • Science – Electricity: Pupils should identify common appliances that run on electricity and construct simple circuits, associating the brightness of bulbs or the loudness of buzzers with the number and voltage of cells used.

  • Science – Forces & Energy: Pupils should understand how electricity can be generated through different means, including mains electricity, batteries, and renewable sources.

  • Working Scientifically: Pupils should use observations and measurements to identify and compare common sources of electricity, understanding their uses and importance in daily life.
