Nets of 3d Shapes

By the end of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. Use their knowledge of 2D and 3D shapes to identify three-dimensional shapes from their nets.
  2. Recognize that a net is a two-dimensional figure that can be folded to create a three-dimensional shape.
  3. Use measuring tools and conventional markings to draw nets of 3d shapes accurately.

Curriculum Alignment: Year 6 geometry: Properties of shapes

  • Recognise, describe and build simple 3-D shapes, including making nets.
