Ratio of Lengths Area and Volume

By the end of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. understand the concept of ratios and their significance in comparing quantities;
  2. use ratios to compare lengths, areas, and volumes of geometric figures;
  3. apply their knowledge to solve problems involving ratios of lengths, areas, and volumes.

Curriculum Alignment: Key Stage 4: Ratio, proportion and rates of change

  • Compare lengths, areas and volumes using ratio notation and/or scale factors; make links to similarity (including trigonometric ratios)
