10 and 100 More or Less

By the end of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. understand the concept of “10 more” and “10 less” for two-digit numbers;
  2. understand the concept of “100 more” and “100 less” for three-digit numbers;
  3. use mental strategies to add or subtract 10 or 100 from a given number;
  4. identify number patterns when adding or subtracting multiples of 10 and 100.

  • Count from 0 in multiples of 4, 8, 50 and 100; find 10 or 100 more or less than a given number.
