Drawing Pictograms (1-1)

By the end of this unit, children will be able to:

  1. Understand the concept of pictograms as visual representations of data.
  2. Create simple pictograms using symbols to represent quantities.
  3. Organize and label categories on a pictogram.
  4. Count and record data accurately using pictorial symbols.
  5. Present data in a clear and organized manner through drawing pictograms.

Curriculum Alignment: Year 2 Statistics:

  • Interpret and construct simple pictograms, tally charts, block diagrams and tables.
  • Ask and answer simple questions by counting the number of objects in each category and sorting the categories by quantity.
  • Ask-and-answer questions about totalling and comparing categorical data.
