By the end of this unit, students will be able to:
- understand that both water and ice are made of the same substance;
- recognize that water is a liquid and ice is a solid;
- observe and describe what happens to water when it is frozen;
- observe and describe what happens to ice when it is heated;
- understand that water can change to ice by freezing and ice can change to water by melting.
