Description


By the end of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. understand the concept of sample space and its relevance in probability;
  2. create and interpret sample space diagrams to represent possible outcomes;
  3. calculate probabilities based on sample space diagrams;
  4. apply sample space diagrams to real-world scenarios and problem-solving.

Key Stage 3: Probability

  • generate theoretical sample spaces for single and combined events with equally likely, mutually exclusive outcomes and use these to calculate theoretical probabilities

  • Age: 12-14

  • England & Wales: Year 8-9

  • Scotland: Senior 1-2

  • Rep. Ireland: Jr. Circle:1st-2nd Year

  • Australia: Grade 7-8

  • USA: Grade 7-8

  • Three-part Lesson

  • Self-marking Activities

  • Fluency, Reasoning and Problem-solving Questions.
