Short Divisions
In this lesson, learners will learn how to divide numbers mentally, drawing upon known facts; use the formal written method of short division to divide numbers up to 4 digits by a one-digit number; and interpret remainders appropriately for the context.
Converting Units of Length
Unlock the world of measurement! Discover how units of length relate, convert between them, and solve real-life problems with ease.
Introduction to Percentages
In this lesson, learners will learn how to calculate a percentage and recognize the percent symbol (%); understand that percent relates to the βnumber of parts per 100β; write percentages as a fraction with a denominator 100, and as a decimal fraction.
Divisibility Rules
In this lesson, learners will learn some special rules that will help them recognize divisibility; and determine if any number is divisible by other numbers like 2, 3, 4, etc.
Cube Numbers
In this lesson, learners will recognize and use cube numbers, and the notation for cubed (Β³).
Introduction to Square Numbers
In this lesson, learners will recognize and use square numbers and the notation for squared (Β²).
Multiples of a Number
In this lesson, learners will build on their knowledge of multiples as the result of multiplying a number by a positive integer. They will now proceed to find sets of multiples of given numbers and make generalisations about them. This allows children to begin to understand and use rules of divisibility, which will be built upon in later learning.
Multiply by 10, 100 and 1,000
In this lesson, learners will revisit multiplying whole numbers by 10 and 100, and move on to multiplying whole numbers by 1,000. They will come to understand that the effect of multiplying by 10 twice is the same as multiplying by 100 and that multiplying by 10 three times is the same as multiplying by 1,000.
Roman Numerals to 1,000
Progressing from Roman numerals to 100, in this lesson learners will explore Roman numerals to 1,000, and the symbols D (500) and M (1,000) are introduced. Children will use their knowledge of M and D to recognise years
using Roman numerals.
Dividing by 10, 100, 1000
In this lesson, learners will learn how to divide whole numbers and decimals by 10, 100, and 1,000.
